How to Help

Give me your junk!

See, rather than ask folks for a monetary donation, I concocted a plan with my mother, a specialist in the garage sale arts. And we think it truly has everyone making out dandy in the end.

I'm collecting your old furniture, electronics, knick-knacks and kitchen items - stuff that you no longer need, but is in good enough condition for a second life -- to sell through various garage sales and online venues like Craigslist. Here's why it's brilliant. Maybe you've got an unused gadget taking up precious space. Maybe you've got a piece of furniture that reminds you of a time you're now ready to let go. This is a way to literally clear out your material or emotional clutter - and all for a good cause. In exchange, aside from that warm fuzzy feeling of donating, I'll be sure to show you how your donation helped and update this site with pictures and stories of the children I'll be working with.

If you're interested in helping in some way, thank you so much! Just be in touch and we'll arrange a method of pick-up that works for you. (Several contributors who are very far have posted their items on Craigslist themselves, if that's an option you'd like to take).

Cheers! And thank you all for you kindness and generosity!

Would you rather contribute monetarily?

The more organized and uncluttered among you have asked if, in lieu of junk, they can contribute monetarily. And of course, I'd be glad to accept whatever you'd like to offer! There's a few ways to do this:

1. Donate online via PayPal
Make an online donation to me directly via PayPal in any amount you choose, just by clicking this PayPal logo!

If you have a PayPal account it's a breeze - just a few clicks and you're done. If you don't have to have a PayPal account, it's equally simple - when you get to the page, you have the option of "checking out" using a credit card. Simple and safe, because it's processed by PayPal.

2. You can send me a check directly.

3. You can make a donation to Global Volunteers in my name.
Doing this would render 70% your donation tax-deductible. Online, or via email, just make certain to note the donation is meant toward the service program fee for Joann Klimkiewicz.

Online
Click here and fill out the form, being sure to list my name in the part of the form labelled "this donation is made in honor of"

Via Mail
You can alternatively send a check directly to Global Volunteers. If doing so please put my name in the memo area of the check, so that it can be properly directed to my trip.
